The Writing Experience Continues

The book title is most likely going to stay, “In the Shadow of Porter’s Hollow.” It conveys the idea of the protagonist (the main character) being a woman whose family past has overshadowed who she has become. I like the way the picture above hints at shadows and old things hiding in them.

The writing is going well. Over 50,000 words. I think I am nearing the end and have to make a few final plot direction decisions. It’s been a bit daunting to think I’m about to have a whole book written. Cause then what am I going to do with?

Uh-huh, that’s right. That means publication, and I have got a major case of butterflies about this. Of course, that will only be after the (major) editing and revision process. But I have this dorky dream where I’m holding in my hands a book, a real book, with my name on the cover. And it smells like a book. (I love that smell.)

But I know I can do this because for the first time in my life, I believe in myself and my writing abilities. The¬†¬†group has encouraged me and allowed me to express myself and my ideas. One thing Demi Stevens always says, “It’s your book!” And that’s what matters.
