The Writing Adventure Continues

WritingHoping to have the book, In the Shadow of Porter’s Hollow, out in a couple of months. As I said last time, I am in the rewrite and restructure phase.

Working  right now on restructuring the book to be one with chapters from alternating time frames. Don’t want to give away too much, but the play on the protagonist point of view versus the point of view of the characters involved in the important past events will be the best way for me to tell this story, I believe.

I have begun the restructuring with tips from Demi Stevens. And I admit, at first it looked like a daunting, impossible feat. I secretly thought, Oh my gosh, what was I thinking? This is so complicated, I don’t think I can do this. But, as we sat and discussed the possible choices and the twists and turns, I started to get more excited. I can see how my work can be made so much better.

I realized in that moment, this is an effort, but nothing great comes easy. There are two ways to look at this. Either I decide it’s just too hard and give up, and thereby never realize the dream–ever! Or, I can sit down and begin with the next step. Take one step at a time, and in time you reach the destination. It’s simple physics, if you move forward toward the goal, no matter how slow, or how many steps it takes, you get there. If you never step out–you will never arrive.

Demi has great insight and ideas, I don’t know how I’d do this without her (http://yotbpress.com). I can see the book taking shape in my head as she shares her views. I can’t wait to mold this work of art into a real thriller!

It is coming soon!
